Maruti fans, rejoice! Two of the most awaited car launches of 2024 are just around the corner – the new Maruti Swift and the new Maruti Dzire. While the Swift has already been unveiled in Japan and spotted testing in India, recent spy shots of the Dzire reveal an exciting new feature: a sunroof!

Sunroof Spotted on New Maruti Dzire!

A keen eye will notice the test car sporting a sunroof, hinting at Maruti’s plan to equip the Dzire with more premium features. The Dzire was spotted testing in the chilly regions of Himachal Pradesh, a common practice for carmakers to evaluate performance in extreme weather conditions. Another feature the Dzire might get is a blind-spot monitoring system, enhancing safety for drivers.

What Else to Expect in the New Maruti Dzire?

Apart from the sunroof, the new Dzire promises a refreshed design and revamped interiors. Expect subtle design changes similar to the new Swift. The front will likely boast a new grille, redesigned bumpers, and stylish blacked-out headlamps. The side profile might remain largely unchanged, but new alloy wheels could add a touch of flair. At the rear, expect new bumpers and sleek clear-lens LED tail lamps.

The interiors are expected to mirror the new Swift’s layout, featuring a completely redesigned dashboard packed with modern features. The layout might resemble the Baleno and Fronx. A highlight is the new 9-inch floating touchscreen system, potentially supporting wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. Maruti might also include connected car technology, blind-spot warning, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and wireless charging for added convenience. Safety features could see an upgrade with 6 airbags on higher variants, along with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and traction control.

Engine Specifications

The new Dzire is likely to borrow the engine specifications from the new Swift. This translates to a 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 80 bhp and 108 Nm of torque. While the power output might seem lower, Suzuki claims significant improvements in fuel efficiency and torque delivery. In Japan, Suzuki offers a mild-hybrid version of the Swift that adds a bit more power and torque with its DC motor. This version also boasts superior fuel efficiency. Whether Maruti will bring this mild-hybrid option to India remains to be seen.

Maruti Dzire Launch & Pricing

Maruti has begun testing the new Dzire in India, hinting at a mid-2024 launch. As for pricing, the current Dzire ranges from Rs 7.65 lakh to Rs 10.94 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With the addition of new features like the sunroof, expect a price hike of Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,00,000 for the new Dzire.

Stay tuned for further updates on the much-anticipated launch of the new Maruti Dzire!
