New Delhi. The weather department has issued alerts for some states in the country regarding the weather forecast. Meanwhile, the phase of rain and snowfall continues in the hilly states of northern India. In the capital city Delhi, sunshine was visible from the morning of April 3, but strong winds have once again signaled a change in weather.

The weather department has hinted at light rain today. According to the weather department, a new phase of rain and snowfall is expected in the western Himalayan regions from April 3.

Alert Regarding Heatwave in These States

According to the weather department, from April 3 to April 6, an intense heatwave situation may be observed in interior Karnataka and Odisha. Similarly, from April 4 to April 6, a similar weather condition may be seen in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Rayalaseema, and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Between April 3 and April 6, hotter nights may be observed in Odisha. There is a prevailing situation of heat in various parts of interior Karnataka.

Warning of Rainfall and Snowfall in These States

As per the weather department, today, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand may experience rain and snowfall. Most areas may witness light to moderate showers/snowfall along with thunder.

The possibility of light rain or drizzle is forecasted in different parts of Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad. In the next five days, there is an anticipation of light rain or drizzle in the adjacent plains of northwestern India until April 5, 2024.

Heatwave Alert

IMD has issued a heatwave warning in northern interior Karnataka, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Rayalaseema, and coastal Andhra Pradesh, effective until April 6.

Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram may witness rain and storms. Additionally, thunder and strong winds may accompany light to moderate rainfall. West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and different parts of Kerala may also experience light rain.
