Toyota Upcoming SUVs
According to reports, Toyota could soon introduce four new SUVs in the Indian market. These will range from the compact SUV segment to the full-size SUV segment. However, no information has been provided by the company yet. But it is expected that the company could officially launch all these SUVs within the next 12 to 18 months.
Toyota Urban Taisor
Toyota could launch the Urban Taisor in the compact SUV segment. It will be a rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki’s FrontX. Some changes can be made to it. This SUV could be launched by Toyota in the coming months. It could come with a 1.2-liter petrol engine like the FrontX along with an option for a 1-liter turbo engine.
Toyota Fortuner Mild Hybrid
According to reports, the company plans to offer this seven-seater SUV with mild hybrid technology. Information suggests that this SUV could be equipped with a 40-volt mild hybrid system along with the GD engine series. This will not only improve its fuel efficiency but also help reduce emissions. It is expected that with this technology, the SUV could be launched in the Indian market by the end of this year.
Toyota Hyryder 7 Seater
Toyota could also launch the seven-seater Hyryder in the Indian market. According to information, this SUV could be brought to India by early next year. The seven-seater Hyryder will compete with SUVs like MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Citroen C5 Aircross in the market. It could come with a 1.5-liter mild hybrid and strong hybrid engine options.
Electric SUV
In India, Toyota and Maruti Suzuki sell rebadged versions of each other’s SUVs and other cars under their partnership. It is expected that shortly after the launch of Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV EVeX, Toyota will also introduce its first electric SUV in the Indian market. The company could launch this SUV around the festive season of 2025. Its range could be around 550 kilometers.
